Perseverence

persevere...thats what we need to learn...that is what i need to learn...

nowadays...our generation are full of quiters...this is the most evident in universities n jobs...we go in a university...study a degree, suddenly decide its not right for us after all and the we change...at our work, we complain that the supervisor is not good, that the supervisor is too good and so easy to bully, that there is nothing to do, that there is too much to do...this that here there...complain complain...nothing is ever good enough for us...

perseverance...instead of complaining...why not just say...OKAY...i made this choice...no matter what happens...i will just stick to it to the very end...no matter how hard things will be...i will just work till this thing is over...if i want to change to something else...then, do so only when this thing has been completed..

is it not the same with friends?...have u ever wondered, why our family members can treat us really badly, but in the end, if they need us or their in trouble, we will help them still?...how...if they betray our trust, we still find a place for them in our hearts? we still forgive them?...how a daughter abused by her father would still love and care for her father?...the answer is that THEY ARE BOUNDED FOR LIFE...when im your father, your brother, your mother, your sister...it is forever...there is nothing i can say or do to change that...even if i disown u...we r still related through blood...in short...we r stuck with them...no matter how bad or how good...

this is different with our friends...with friends, if their unkind, we can say we dont want them...we can ignore them if we dont want to see them...we can just change friends until we r happy to deal with them again...n im ashamed to admit tht i have done this so many times in the past...but now i know...why and how some ppl manage to just stay loyal to their friends...because instead of treating friends as ppl which u have an option to run from, u treat friends as an unbreakable bond...just like how u treat your family...when we are friends, it is for life...whatever happens, how u treat me, if you are down, i will be there for you...it is a type of love...something like the love for our family...and one step closer to metta...which is the boundless and unconditional love for all...

ahhh...now i know...so no matter what happens...ever since that time we become friends, its an unbreakable contract...its a lifetime bound...not just in this life but for lives to come...mm...
